I was born in a small town in Minnesota to a large family big on reading and imagination. I spent a majority of my time playing outside with my siblings creating games solely from our own minds, which sparked the desire to continue creating as I grew older.

In one way or another, I have been creating stories since I could speak. If you were to ask my grandmother (God rest her soul), you would hear stories about “yapping on and on” as I formed stories word after word. Creating worlds, characters and storylines.

Publishing had always been a dream of mine, but it never seemed like a viable option, so I kept my writing to myself. It wasn’t until my husband started encouraging me to put my writing to good use and publish that I started taking myself seriously.

So, here we are on this journey and I’m absolutely thrilled you’re here to experience it with me.

Bear with me as I navigate this new world and I hope you enjoy the adventure.

A Note From Samantha

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're Doing Something.

So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”
